Emergency Medical Responder
Our EMR program is for Manitoba students that wish to begin their journey into emergency services and successful students are able to obtain their EMT license through the MB College of Paramedics.
Current Dates:
Part 1: Theory: ONLINE
Part 2: Skills sessions/practice: IN PERSON
Students have up to 6 months to attend skills sessions to practice and perfect their EMR skills. 2021 Skills sessions will be at a slightly reduced capacity, due to COVID-19; running Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 pm in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
EMT Licensing: If desired, students have up to 6 months after obtaining SMART EMR certification to apply to and participate in the MB College of Paramedics: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensing process.
* Students are required to wear masks, “self supplied,” at all times while in attendance. Students will be given face shields with their masks while in attendance.
* Hand washing upon arrival, between practice skills, and on departure. Social distancing is required. Students will be prescreened upon arrival and only up to 8 students maximum will be permitted in each skills night.
